Obtaining Police Clearance Certificate in Qatar

A Police Clearance Certificate in Qatar or a Good Conduct Certificate is a document that attests that you (the applicant) has no criminal record and is issued by the Criminal Evidence and Information Department (CEID). In the case of the applicant having a criminal record, the certificate will list all the relevant details pertaining to the record. Once you have filed all documents needed for application it will take 5-7 business days to receive your PCC.

Obtaining a PCC is required by law if you wish to establish a company in Qatar. In order to file for a PCC, you must have been an expat, who has lived in Qatar for a minimum of 6 months. If you are currently not in Qatar to file the application you may send in a registered agent on your behalf. In order to have a successful application to obtain the Police Clearance Certificate in Qatar, ensure you have the following documents ready at hand:

• Filled in application form
• Document of fingerprints (needs to be officially attested by embassy of your country of origin)
• Official Passport copy
• Official Residence Permit copy
• Addresses and duration of stay of all places of residence in Qatar.
• 2 photographs (4 x 6 cm)
• Ministry of Foreign Affairs certified PCC from country of origin
• A letter from your company that sponsors you

Once you have filed for your application and have submitted these documents, you will be directed to pay for the application process and after the proof of payment is verified, you should be issued your PCC within 5-7 business days, provided that all documents have been submitted correctly.
